The Egyptology Graduate Conference will take place at Brown University on November 11, 2017. Conference participants will be required to arrange their own travel and accommodation. Please feel free to get in touch if you need help planning your trip.

Accommodation

There are a few spaces available for presenters who want to say with Brown grad students. These accommodations are free, but space is limited. Please email us directly to let us know that you would like to stay with a student. Spaces will be assigned by lottery.

The conference has reserved a number of rooms at the Hampton Inn in downtown Providence. The conference rate is $189 per night. Feel free to contact us if you require help booking at this rate.

Rooms permitting, the Dean Hotel in downtown Providence also provides rooms at an affordable rate.

Travel

Providence train station is in the center of Providence and a short walk to downtown and Brown.

Providence T.F. Green airport is a 15-20 minute car ride from Providence. There is limited public transport from the airport to Providence (and vice-versa) but taxis and Uber/Lyft service the area.

Boston Logan Airport is the nearest international airport to Providence and is about an hour away from Providence. From Logan you can take the Peter Pan bus to downtown Providence. Alternatively, you can take the free Silver Line bus from outside the arrivals terminal to Boston South Station and then board an Amtrak or MBTA train to Providence. Amtrak can be booked in advance and the MBTA costs $10.50 one way and can be bought at the ticket office in South Station
